Voter ID in Rhode Island

As Gomer Pyle used to say, “Surprise, surprise, surprise!”

And what’s more, the perfect case for voter ID was put forth by this RI news article.

In a representative democracy, voting is sacred. It is how citizens can help change their government peacefully when they think it ceases to serve their interests and values. When the vote is corrupted by fraud, the legitimacy of the entire system is undermined.

That’s why Rhode Island should require that voters produce a photo ID at the polls.

“Voting should be at least as secure as renting a car, getting a library card or any of the other tasks that routinely require an ID,” said Secretary of State Ralph Mollis.

It would be nice, and proper, if more states would do the same (cough).

Don Surber has some more on this (h/t to you, Don). Be sure to read through the comments as well.

Not Even 4 More Days

Even Cheap Is Too Expensive

Dollar stores are struggling.

A quote within the article:

“In other words, the economy is continuing to be worse, the Obama depression continues to explode,” he added.

Still think the economy is not tanking? Hhhmm, 1600?

Not Near Enough

Saving $4T over the next decade? Who’s kidding who here?

Finally, Boehner was convinced (by some) that isn’t a good deal.

At last. Somebody’s doing the math. How can there be common ground when the other side is trying to pull the rug out from under you (but make it sound good)?

(Pssst. BO wants $2T in tax hikes.)

Don’t Tampa With 2nd Amendment

Think Project Gunrunner was only about the southern border with Mexico?

If you are a law abiding, gun owning citizen of the United States, should you be concerned? Very concerned?

And Alan West on Eric Holder. Also, Instapundit’s Glenn Reynolds.

On Those Wisconsin Fleebaggers

It seems there are serious questions about how much of their out-of-state expenses was paid and by who.

The 14 Democrat state senators that left Wisconsin so they would not do their jobs (thinking that was going to stop progress) may be in serious legal trouble because – where did their expense money come from and what happened to the rest of it?

Our Founding Constitution In Danger

This is not new news, but this article might have some new bits of information within.

For those that have watched Glenn Beck, the progressives are pushing to alter the Constitution to incorporate a Second Bill of Rights. These are not the unalienable, nature’s God given rights – but ones “determined” by people (notice I am not even saying ‘government’ at this point). This is dangerous beyond imagination. For rights determined by man, can be later taken away, by man. And that, rings the death knell.

It is vital they be named.

Cass Sunstein, Lisa Brown, Eric Holder – all (and likely far more) operate within the Soros-funded American Constitution Society. Ring a bell?

If progressives manage to bring this about, it will be the beginning of the end.

For they know not what they do.

Stand up and be counted. Never give up, never give in. Remember November 2012. Now, more than ever.

SCOTUS To Review GPS Tracking

Be sure to watch the video in the Hot Air article on this subject of warrantless monitoring.

There are references that court rulings suggest “no expectation to privacy when driving on public roads.”

And yet, to have the FBI covertly place a tracker on your car means it has to be parked and the owner nowhere in sight. Likely, your driveway. But, that’s your property. Meaning the car AND the driveway. (How about when you park inside your garage?) Check your land deed for your property lines. Only so much of your property may be easements or locally managed property. And even then, there are arguments over how much of your trash is still your property or public for the sake of criminal investigations.

Are we a nation of laws, or aren’t we? The U.S. Constitution and local laws seem to say so.

“The law applies to everyone or it means nothing.”
