Fool of the Present

Obama Pushes Alternative Energy in North Carolina

Visiting the key battleground state of North Carolina today, President Obama urged Americans to embrace alternative energy sources and lessen their dependence on oil, calling it a “fuel of the past.”

Pushing the dominoes over, Mr. Pres**ent?

You just – don’t – get – it.

Over-Regulation Kills

Coal Business. People. Faith. Life giving water. Ability to drrive to work. Economy.

Take your pick.

Actually, you don’t have to. The oversized federal government is doing it all – just for you. And to you. Us, that is.

Can we shrink government now? It has proven it will not follow the Law of the Land, our Constitution. So, they are completely lawless. Throw them in jail.

Energetic Hypocrites

Meet the Sierra Club. Apparently, they accepted $26M from Chesapeake Energy and its subsidiaries. These companies are one of the largest groups providing natural gas-drilling operations.

The Sierra Club accepted these funds to support their disdain for coal mining and the subsequent coal-fired energy plants. Something about “dirty coal”, if I am not mistaken.

Let’s see what it takes to produce (currently) natural-gas, shall we?

From Wikipedia:

Before natural gas can be used as a fuel, it must undergo processing to clean the gas and remove impurities including water in order to meet the specifications of marketable natural gas. The by-products of processing include ethane, propane, butanes, pentanes, and higher molecular weight hydrocarbons, hydrogen sulphide (which may be converted into pure sulfur), carbon dioxide, water vapor, and sometimes helium and nitrogen.

Carbon dioxide? CO2? Horrors!

Okay, who’s buying carbon credits for this, hmmm? Sierra CLub or Chesaapeake Energy?

Go climb a tree you idjits.

Fuel Costs To Increase Soon

One culprit, EPA. Just look what is happening (and has) in St. Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands)

Say Thanks to the EPA and the POTUS for making living & working much more expensive.

And remember who said “NO” to building the Keystone Pipeline.

UPDATE: Forcing Smart Meters Upon Us

It started in California, this year. About a month ago, when some customers removed their Smart Meter and replaced it with an analog by a liscensed professional electrician. So, this was done properly in accordance with technical requirements, in other words, money was spent to have a professional do the job right. This isn’t about getting electricity without paying for it.

Wendy Sarsfield, a representative from the public utility PG&E, kept insisting that saftey was the main issue for which power was not restored to the homeowners. Upon hearing this, Board Member after Board Member seemed to come up with a viable, workable solution, but it was always unacceptable to the PG&E Rep. After several minutes where the PG&E Rep began sounding like a broken record while refusing to come to any reasonable solution about restoring power to people’s homes (One of which was just to add people to the delay list and reinstall an analog meter until the California Public Utilites Commission-CPUC- finished creating an opt out program), one Board Member cut to the chase……

Get ready, new home construction is expected to have these installed as a matter of course. But when they come after your existing home to “upgrade” your meter – what are you going to do?

Read that whole updated article at GatewayPundit and watch the entire video to see the play-by-play (around 5 minute mark) by everyone and the PG&E representative.

Do you really want the power company to turn off your A/C during the summer and heat during the winter? Because that, and the fact that there are not new power generation plants planned for construction, is what they intend to solve their problem of providing enough energy for everyone’s consumption.

UPDATE: In British Columbia (Canada), it appears their smart meters will track power usage against specific devices by category. How about that. Forget about privacy – even in your own home, government – local or otherwise – intrudes deeper into your lives.

This Is Not Politics

This is obstructionism at its worst.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) tried to bring up the House-passed payroll-tax bill for a vote with the intention of summarily rejecting it, but Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) objected. McConnell pushed for the Senate to first vote on an omnibus spending bill that would fund much of the federal government through 2012 and avert a shutdown after Friday night.

The two leaders ended their exchange with no immediate path forward. McConnell urged Reid to negotiate with Boehner, but Reid said “the Speaker can’t negotiate with me until this bill is killed” — referring to the payroll-tax measure.

White House Claims $$B Savings In 2 Years

WASHINGTON, DC – President Obama today announced nearly $4 billion in combined federal and private sector energy upgrades to buildings over the next 2 years. These investments will save billions in energy costs, promote energy independence, and, according to independent estimates, create tens of thousands of jobs in the hard-hit construction sector. The $4 billion investment announced today includes a $2 billion commitment, made through the issuance of a Presidential Memorandum, to energy upgrades of federal buildings using long term energy savings to pay for up-front costs, at no cost to taxpayers.

At no cost to taxpayers? Huh? How is that possible with the billions needed to be spent by federal and private sector energy upgrades, as mentioned above?

What are they smoking in the White House? Will it need to be fumigated come January 2013? Seems it will.

The Death of Global Warming

Too much to say, too little time to say it and way too many links delving deeper, deeper into the bowels of so-called “professionals” (you will note that I am not calling anyone involved in this chain of email communications recently exposed as – scientists).

Let’s start with Anthony’s website – WattsUpWithThat. The recently released treasure trove of emails (okay, hacked, if you really want to split hairs) on the subject of Global Warming appears to be very damning indeed. Just one reference I make here –

UPDATE26: 2:50 PM 11/25 Two separate examples show obstruction and collusion by members of “The Team” to prevent any dissenting science from being properly considered by the NRC in 2007.

There is much more. A tease –

UPDATE21: 9:50AM PST 11/24 “FOIA2011″ and Climategate – A Chinese-POTUS connection?

I strongly recommend you read through the site, if you are at all interested in this subject, and how much it has affected all of us detrimentally.

Based on what I have read on this, Al Gore should be very ashamed of himself and the funds he has acquired on this subject should be returned to their rightful owners.

And these “professionals” should ……. well, I’ll let you make any further comments should you choose to do so.

Oh, and then there is this site, Daily Mail Online in the UK, hopping on the same subject but being more emphatic that there was certainly collusion involved.

Screwed Yet Again

Because the Pres**ent B Obama loves to play politics (but with real cause and effect), we will not get any additional oil from Canada (due to putting off the Keystone Pipeline decision until ….. later, much later).

Apparently, BO thinks this is smart politics.

At the expense of 300 million citizens of the United States. (Because, Canada will now sell to others.)

Just like he has done with Obamacare.

He only cares about himself.

Come November of 2012, let’s care enough to open the door for him – and shove him out.

Power Loss

The EPA is about to get medieval on us. Or, send us back in time to that age of darkness.
IER Identifies Coal Fired Power Plants Likely to Close as Result of EPA Regulations

The United States has the world’s largest coal resources. In fact we have 50 percent more coal than Russia, the country with the next largest reserves. But coal use in the United States is under assault.

Soon, the only use left for coal will be placing it in EPA’s Christmas stocking.
Thank the Grinch, folks, er, Obama.
