(CNSNews.com) – Archbishop Timothy Broglio, who leads the Roman Catholic Archdiocese for the Military Services, wrote a letter to be read at all Sunday Masses for U.S. military personnel around the world that said that a regulation issued by the Obama Administration under the new federal health care law was “a blow” to a freedom that U.S. troops have not only fought to defend but for which some have recently died in battle.
“It is a blow to a freedom that you have fought to defend and for which you have seen your buddies fall in battle,” the archbishop wrote.
I agree with the Archbishop. I hope others will as well.
In yet another stunning attack on freedom of religion, President Barack Obama’s Justice Department asked the Supreme Court last week to give the federal government the power to tell a church who its ministers will be.
Just how far is too far?
That is. Let’s see, how many parts of the U.S. Constitution has this Administration ignored and/or broken? So now they are attempting to rule INSIDE the affairs of a Church?
Where’s the lightning going to strike? And how many times? I want to know so I have my camera ready to record this calamity for posterity.
Next, they will tell us who we can and cannot worship. Yeah, tht’s next. Count on it.
How – repressively evil – of this President and Administration, specifically the Department of Health & Human Services under the guise of Katheleen Sebelious.
That’s right, I said it – evil. They know doggone well what the proposed regulation is about to do.
The proposed regulation, designed to implement part of Obamacare, will require all private health plans in the United States to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives–including those that cause abortions—without charging any fees or co-pay. …..
A “religious exemption” in the regulation is so narrowly drawn that it does not include any lay Catholics, or any Catholic hospitals, charitable organizations, or colleges or universities.
How dare they.
While the First Amendment is specifically intended that the federal government will not establish a nationally recognized religion (check history, because that is the original purpose), this administration is about to impose rules that violate ethics and morality of a specific religion at the very least. By design.
