Gotcha Moment

Part of the transcript …..

Jessica Yellin. Congratulations, your first question here.

Q Thank you, Mr. President.

THE PRESIDENT: No pressure. You’re going to do great. (Laughter.)

Q Thank you. Your administration has laid out four different dates by which you’ve said that the debt ceiling must be raised or the U.S. would face potential dire consequences. Three of those dates have come and gone and we haven’t faced financial calamity. Some of your critics have argued that these are then scare tactics to force a deal. So why should the American people believe that the August 2nd deadline is the final deadline by which a deal must be raised? And would you also spell out for us what you believe will happen if the debt ceiling is not raised by that date?

THE PRESIDENT: Jessica, let’s be clear. We haven’t given out four different dates. We have given out dates that are markers for us getting into trouble. It’s the equivalent of you’re driving down the street and the yellow light starts flashing. The yellow light is flashing. Now, it hasn’t been a red light yet. So what Tim Geithner has said is, technically speaking, we’re in a position now where we’re having to do a whole bunch of things to make sure that our bills are paid.

He’s not even on the road to salvation.
Great job, Jessica.

UPDATEx2: In-State Tuition Petition List Released

Marylanders,

According to Delegate Mike Smigiel, CASA de MD likely already has the petition list.

And not only that, there are paid college students ($12/hour) that are instructed to shadow signing locations and will be handing out flyers in an attempt to intimidate potential signers.

Be sure to read Delegate Smigiel’s blog link for all of his details, including what that flier looks like.

Last point, regardless of how this may distress you, prepare yourself for possible intimidation by phone from anyone in relation to this referendum attempt.

While it is against the law in this state to electronically record a telephone conversation without the other party’s permission, I recommend that you keep a pen and pad of paper by the phone just in case. If you get such a call, write down the date & time of the call along with as much detail you can remember of what has been said. In effect, a diary. This may become very, very important.

This has happened before, in Wisconsin, not too long ago.

UPDATE: As of 11 hours ago, Delegate Neil Parrott indicated on Facebook that the SBE (State Board of Elections) had changed their mind – “that they would make the copies of the petitions and not release petitions to Casa. They released names and addresses of all petition signers accepted and rejected on Thursday to Casa and have sent us a copy of that information as well.” It would appear, from this reading that the only change made was who and where the copies would be made. According to others, CASA, Del. SMigiel, Del. Parrott received electronic copies of the accepted and rejected lists through the US mail. The list of rejected was made available online as a PDF file – but that list, as I recall, had no addresses. So my question is, does the list of accepted contain the addresses? Phone numbers?

I would really like to know more about the details of that specific list. Anybody have an aanswer to that?

UPDATEx2: Wow! 132,000 petitions delivered to State Board of Elections. Historic. Fantastic job of the people and for the people. Congratulations to those who worked to the bone for this.

One last thing to say, “We won’t get out of the way. We are here to stay. The Rule of Law must be obeyed.”

POTUS Gives Exec Order Instituting DREAM Act

He doesn’t need Congress, he can do it himself. He did it.

That’s called being a ruler, a tyrant, a dictator. When is he going to be reigned in?

When is Congress going to step up and do their job upholding the U.S. Constitution? (Yeah, I know. Wishful thinking.)

Trouble is, Congress fails to realize that this President is setting the stage for future Presidents to do exactly the same thing. So why do we need Congress anymore, hhmmm?

For that matter, when do we stop using the term – President, and replace it with something else?

Executive Orders need to be abolished. Departmental policy letters need to follow the Constitution and not create new circumstances.

Watt A Load

Or, as I see it – what a load. According to Elisabeth Rosenthal of the NYT, she would have us be lumped in as energy hogs. the likes of which come to mind is Al Gore.

Really Liz? Is this all you have? Shouldn’t you ask Hollywood, Blockbuster, Netflix and everyone else what they think if we all got rid of our high tech toys that feeds them our discretionary funds?

You really want to send those companies down the tubes? I’d love to hear their reaction to your sanctimonious article.

Green, huh? But not the green of money.

Tell me, Liz. How much energy does your house waste while you are at work?
Do you have digital thermostat that scales back consumption while you are not there? I do. Do you turn lights off in rooms you aren’t in? I do. Do you run your dishwasher and/or laundry in the evening? I do.

Odds are, my monthly utility bill is far less than yours.

Now, with all those figures you put forth about how many KWhours are consumed by just ONE electrical appliance in the home across the country, why don’t you do the same for just lighting? Or, just air conditioning? Or, just dishwashers? Or, just clothes washers/dryers? You know, something with motors? I’d bet you will pale when you see those numbers.

Impeach Holder

There appears to be a case to exactly that.

I must say, I agree and it is long past time to do so.

In the fall of 2009, the Department of Justice (DOJ) developed a risky new strategy to combat gun trafficking along the Southwest Border.…The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) implemented that strategy using a reckless investigative technique that street agents call “gunwalking.” ATF’s Phoenix Field Division began allowing suspects to walk away with illegally purchased guns.

This shift in strategy was known and authorized at the highest levels of the Justice Department. Through both the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona and “Main Justice,” headquarters in Washington, D.C., the Department closely monitored and supervised the activities of the ATF.
……
The Department of Justice has repeatedly and steadfastly denied that any guns were walked under Operation Fast and Furious. According to the narrowest possible interpretation, a gun is walked only when an ATF agent physically places an AK-47 into the hands of a straw purchaser and then lets that straw purchaser walk out of sight.

Bill To Freeze POTUS Power To Grant Amnesty

Go for it, Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas).

He said that under the new guidelines ICE agents could defer the deportations of “millions of deportable illegal and criminal immigrants.”

“The Obama administration cannot continue to pick and choose which laws it will enforce,” said Smith in a statement. “It is outrageous that they have put illegal immigrants and their liberal political base ahead of the American people.”

Activist Judge Says Taxpayers Must Pay for Abortions

Really?

So how different is this from the POTUS and Congress saying we must pay for Healthscare or face fines and/or jail time?

Since when is it a Judge’s job to over-ride legislation from a state body and signed into law by its Governor?

There are real bad laws out there, Judge. Why not shut them down, too?

How Lose Tax Exempt Status

Ask Media Matters about that after they went public on the far left org’s mission to destroy FOX News.

Last night on The O’Reilly Factor, this was discussed thouroughly.

GatewayPundit has it here.

Yes, it sounds like Media Matters is dumb as a box of rocks.

La Raza Funding Skyrockets

Why? Obama hired its VP.

Paying for future votes, I imagine.

The Lone Star State Versus EPA

It seems that Texas can’t catch a break from EPA decisions about their energy productions, jobs, air quality, natural gas, etc., etc., etc.

One would think someone is out to “get” Texas for some reason. Nah. Can’t be. Who would take their wrath out on an entire state? Anybody?

Seems Texas can’t get the support it needs – ever since, ever since, um, that … interview. Hhhmm?

Wow. Wasn’t there a problem getting federal disaster help to control wild fires not too long ago?

Gee. I hope I’m wrong. Just. Too many coincidences, you know?
