New Deepwater Oil Reserves

In the Gulf. Question is, when oil is being extracted, will it be ours – or sold to some other country? And, how many resuscitated jobs will be developed?
So far, no answers to those questions yet. But the fascinating thing here is – this discovery was made as a result of recent work on an existing well that was halted over one year ago.

Imagine what our economy, jobs picture and fuel prices could have been – had it not been halted by this administration?

Bully In Chief At It Again

And now, before his upcoming Thursday speech on a jobs bill, our President has a message for the Republicans in Congress.

“We’re going to see if we’ve got some straight-shooters in Congress,” Obama said. “We’re going to see if congressional Republicans will put country before party.”

The president said that the time is now for Washington to work together to deal with the economic crisis, and not spend time on a “manufactured crisis” like the debt-ceiling debate. “The time for Washington games is over,” Obama said.

He thinks it’s a doozy. I wonder, who wrote it. Again we have an instance where this man seems to think he is acting presidential with his tactics.

Tiresome. And hardly seen as mature. He has obviously no intention of working with Republicans. That has been clear for quite some time, and now repeats that mantra.

Oh, President Obama? You’re repeating the need for roads & bridges rework in this message now, yes? It seems you said the purpose of that $787B stimulus was supposed to do exactly that, didn’t you? But where did that money go?

Remember in November 2012.

Bloomberg Ballistic

Seems the Mayor of NYC has had enough since there were 24 people shot over a span of 24 hours this past Labor Day weekend. As of last night, no suspect had been arrested although police are hunting for one suspect, who they identified as 17-year-old Oneil Dasilva of Mount Vernon.

Bloomberg went ballistic yesterday, demanding stiffer federal gun laws.

Mayor, I have a suggestion, since your city has practically the toughest gun laws around, why don’t you just catch the suspects, throw them in jail and toss away the key instead? You’ll find that makes a real difference.

Truth About Electric Cars

In simplest terms, we are not ready. And here is why:

Electric cars aren’t necessarily green at all. Electric vehicles require large amounts of electricity – so much that Toronto Hydro chief Anthony Haines says he doesn’t know how he’d get it. “If you connect about 10 per cent of the homes on any given street with an electric car, the electricity system fails,” he said recently.

That is but a snippet from the article, be sure to read the whole thing.

One other thing to keep in mind, COSCTO has been removing charging stations from their parking lots (in CA) recently. They just may have saved themselves some grief.

Sorry, but like Kermit said: It isn’t easy, being green.

Ethical Oil

Yeah, drill, baby, drill. Here, in the U.S. of A.

Obama Clock

As Hot Air puts it, “Sick of Obama? There’s an app for that.”

On the iPhone, but not on my Android cell.

C’mon, folks, we need this ported over to the Motorola Atrix and others!

Which Dog Did It

This too cute, and hilarious, not to share. Hope you agree.

UPDATE: Unpatriot Acts?

The war on civilians, aka citizens, with cameras.

Watch the video. It will explain a lot.

UPDATE: War on photographing police continues:

In its ruling, which lets Simon Glik continue his lawsuit, the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Boston said the way Glik was arrested and his phone seized under a state wiretapping law violated his First and Fourth Amendment rights.

Reminiscent of Classic WKRP Episode

Turkeys don’t fly.

But Romney changed his mind about global warming, er, climate change. We don’t cause it. Whatever.

“They’re dropping to the ground like sacks of wet cement. One went through a windshield of a parked car!”

Video at the link. You never saw this on WKRP.

UPDATEx2: Gibson Guitar Raided By DOJ

Via GatewayPundit:

“The Federal Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. has suggested that the use of wood from India that is not finished by Indian workers is illegal, not because of U.S. law, but because it is the Justice Department’s interpretation of a law in India. (If the same wood from the same tree was finished by Indian workers, the material would be legal.) This action was taken without the support and consent of the government in India.”

UPDATE: Gibson CEO gives press statemeent. Apparently, the DOJ also confiscated $500K of materials from Gibson back in 2009 and the CEO wants it back.

And then there’s this news item also.

Michelle Malkin posted on this as well. Quite a few worthwhile links in her article that are also must reads.

And the CEO is interviewed by Dana Loesch. This is an inteesting interview (audio only).

Even Glenn Reynolds (Instapundit) hits on it a small bit.

UPDATEx2: Seems Gibson’s CEO is a Republican supporter and a competitor (Martin), as a Democrat supporter who also uses the same wood, hasn’t been touched by the DOJ. How about that.

Reminder:
DOJ files lawsuits against Arizona & other states for passing ‘self-defense’ laws the same as Article 4, Section 4 in the U.S. Constitution.

Why is it our DOJ is more interested in protecting workers in another country (that didn’t ask for help) rather than protecting the lives and sovereign properties of our own citizens from Mexican crime cartels?

This needs an answer. Seriously.
