AZ Sheriff Pondering U.S. Senate Run

My two cents, do it, Sheriff Joe.

Just do it.

Government Motors Spends Our Money

Bailed out. How about – thrown out? For this:

General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group LLC, which each received government-funded bailouts, may award some managers bonuses of as much as 50 percent of their salary, said four people familiar with the plans.

GM plans to pay bonuses to most managers equal to 15 percent to 20 percent of their annual salary and as high as 50 percent to less than 1 percent of its 26,000 U.S. salaried employees, said one of the people, who asked not to be named revealing internal plans. Bonuses for Chrysler’s 10,755 salaried workers will average about $10,000, with a small group getting as much as half of their salary, one of the people said.

Nothing’s changed. Same old, same old.

How To Mess Up the Future

According to the Veep, by spending $50B + for high speed rail in economic times that put all of us and generations to come owing tons of money this administration spent and borrowed and spent to the point of (almost??) no return.

In other words – rocketing to the poorhouse.

Idiot. I hope everyone else picks up on the timing of this idiocy.

hhhmm, I wonder how much of that $50B could be used to seal the southern border …….

Toyota Shafted

Remember those stories that a lot of Toyota cars suddenly, for no reason, suffered intense acceleration?

Well, Neil Cavuto summarizes the truth of the matter – it isn’t, and wasn’t, true. At all.

Here’s my question.

Are they going to get the money back from the government (fines)??????

UPDATE: Judge Rules Administration In Contempt

Over the deepwater oil drilling moratorium. A very interesting read.

But will it solve anything? Don’t hold your breath. Be nice if someone in Congress would push this further into the sunshine.

Hint.

UPDATE: Job losses. Oil company files for bankruptcy, sells oil rigs. Administration does nothing. Nothing.

No Longer Ours

Deepwater rigs moved out of the Gulf of Mexico

(Adds Pride rig moving to Mediterranean)
Jan 27 (Reuters) – Some of the 30-plus deepwater rigs that were in the Gulf of Mexico have moved to other markets, first because of a U.S. halt called last May after BP Plc’s well blowout, and then because of the lack of permits once the moratorium was lifted.

See the jobs go. See the oil go. See unemployment rise. Is it any wonder costs for everything will rise?

And we remain dependent on others to export oil to us. Even moreso.
Sorry, grandkids, this is no longer the America it used to be.

Thank the President and the 111th Congress for this mess. They are the ones who foisted this on you.
Let no one tell you otherwise, for that will be a lie.

Al Qaeda Hopes To Surgically Implant Explosives into the Body

New Kind of Terrorism?
Stitching a bomb into the abdominal cavity made of plastic or liquid explosives – such as semtex or PETN was judged the best method.

More of that article

Personally, I’d just as soon send them a pallet of Beans. They’d suffer first before exploding from passing natural gas.

On a related note, I received notice via a friend’s email of a possible new product in the offing:

Develop a booth that you step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have hidden on or in your body. The explosion will be contained within the sealed booth.

This would be a win-win for everyone. There would be none of this nonsense about racial profiling and the device would eliminate long and expensive trials.

This is so simple that it’s brilliant. I can see it now: you’re in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system, “Attention, standby passengers! We now have a seat available on flight number…”

I’ll contact engineering tomorrow morning and get right on it.

Fighting To Keep Bush Tax Cuts

So far. So good.

McConnell vows to introduce tax-freeze bill

Republicans pledge to fight to preserve Bush-era tax cuts

Theater in the extreme. Just before elections. Get the popcorn ready.

POTUS Tax Plan To Be Blocked

So say the Senate Republicans.

According to Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona this issue was discussed just before recess and that every Republican was absolutely supportive of the idea that there shouldn’t be any increases in taxes.

Imagine that. Just before recess. Just before some state primaries. Just before November.

How about that.
