$1.1T Spending Bill Oinking Its Way to the Floor

Tomorrow. Wednesday. The Ides of December.

This is the funding for the monstrosity known as Obamacare. It is ladeen with Pork, aka earmarks (as I heard on the Sean Hannity raadio show this day around 4 to 5pm). I agree with Don Surber’s post about Boehner’s call to the POTUS to veto it.

Crank up the phone lines, folks, this is the flip the Congress is giving us for Christmas because of our rising interest and activism in our Republic Government.

It is no coincidence that this is coming on the heels of Federal Judge Henry Hudson’s ruling about individuals having to purchase insurance (when the Commerce Clause in the US Constitution does not, and never did, claim regulating commerce extends beyond the state level).

Congress wants to send us a message? Well, pick up the phone and send them one also.

Other sites on this issue:
Michelle Malkin, Hot Air, Gateway Pundit

Hot Air shows an update that indicates the earmark count is now near 6,500 earmarks in all totaling $8.3 billion in all, at least.
When the POTUS first bragged about Congress passing the Healthcare (Obamacare) bill, he expressed happiness that they “included no earmarks.” Okay, POTUS, now is the time to express your dissatisfaction by breaking out the veto pen from its mothball status.

From Michelle Malkin’s article:
One commenter, who picked a page at random (877), found that the bill has designated $350 million to create a new “San Francisco Bay Restoration Program.” Others have noted that $413,000 have been appropriated for peanut research in the deep South and nearly $250,000 for virus free wine grapes in Washington State…

Remember this?

DHS-ICE Seizes Domain Names?

Huh? Pray tell, exactly how does this fall under their jurisdiction?

I’m cornfused. So our physical security and well being is in danger now because our enemies can hurt us through internet web page names?????

And these seizures can be done without due process?

This absolutely stinks to high heaven of a police state. Along with idiocy raised to heights unknown. Until now.

How do you explain this one, Jammit Napolitano? Because your feet aren’t even on the ground.

At Long Last Brutal Honesty

And it is way past due.

From Euroskeptic MEP Nigel Farage, who made his remarks in the European Parliament.

Watch the video and pay attention to the faces after Nigel’s speech.

Complete And Total Awesomeness

By NJ Governor, Chris Christie.

Enjoy the video in the article. I most certainly did.

Don’t START

It’s a One Way treaty.

Obama to push Senate on START

Be sure to read the comments at the bottom of the article.

By the Way – An Endorsement

I haven’t done this on my blog here, or anywhere else for that matter, but before I go to saw some ZZZZZs …..

I would like to recommend that anyone who reads this and hasn’t voted yet, please consider voting for William Campbell.

He is running for State Comptroller against Franchot.

Bill is a fine Republican and former Chief Financial Officer.

I have come to know him, a bit, while on the campaign trail (up to the Primary, September 16th).

He’s a good man. We can look forward to good, honest work and representation from him.

Best of Luck, Bill.

Largest Tax Hike in Jan 2011

If Congress fails to act,
income tax rates will revert to higher levels dating from June 2001.

For a married couple with an income of $80,000, that would drain an extra $221.48 in withholding from a semi-monthly paycheck, according to calculations by the Tax Institute at H&R Block. Married individuals earning $240,000 a year would lose an additional $557.78 to withholding in a single semi-monthly paycheck. The Tax Institute at H&R Block calculated federal tax rates for single-income earners and married taxpayers without children.

Paychecks could shrink in January and into February, depending on how long it takes Congress to act.

God help us.

This Isn’t Right

Portland residents will vote Nov. 2 on a proposal to give legal residents who are not U.S. citizens the right to vote in local elections, joining places like San Francisco and Chicago that have already loosened the rules or are considering it.

Noncitizens hold down jobs, pay taxes, own businesses, volunteer in the community and serve in the military, and it’s only fair they be allowed to vote, Rwaganje said.

Wait a minute. He lived here for 13 years and didn’t bother to become a citizen? What held him back? Why wouldn’t he want to become a citizen beforehand? He didn’t try?

As for the city, I have a problem with this approach. They could have helped him, and others, on the path to citizenship well before this. What the h-e-double-toothpicks is wrong with them?

Assumption Undone

Fortunately, for this union worker.

Even so, this episode reminds many of the intolerance some have no matter what the truth really is. Nor, do they care to think it through in the first place.

Glad I don’t work, or pay dues, to that union.

New Jobs Killer

Approximately 150,000 jobs may be on the line. Almost immediately. If the following tax hikes pass.

” … President Obama explicitly targeted the industry for two massive tax hikes. First, he’d ban oil and gas companies from using the “Section 199” tax credit, a measure for domestic manufacturers enacted in 2004 to boost US employment. (The Senate is set to vote this week on its version of the ban.) Second, he wants to end “dual capacity” protection for US energy firms. ”

I strongly suggest you read the article.

Because it might cost the US $341 billion in lost economic activity and $68 billion in wages over the next nine years.
