Voter ID in Rhode Island

As Gomer Pyle used to say, “Surprise, surprise, surprise!”

And what’s more, the perfect case for voter ID was put forth by this RI news article.

In a representative democracy, voting is sacred. It is how citizens can help change their government peacefully when they think it ceases to serve their interests and values. When the vote is corrupted by fraud, the legitimacy of the entire system is undermined.

That’s why Rhode Island should require that voters produce a photo ID at the polls.

“Voting should be at least as secure as renting a car, getting a library card or any of the other tasks that routinely require an ID,” said Secretary of State Ralph Mollis.

It would be nice, and proper, if more states would do the same (cough).

Don Surber has some more on this (h/t to you, Don). Be sure to read through the comments as well.

An Idiot In Action

Or, how not to get your point across.

Republican Sen. Lori Klein was showing off her raspberry-pink handgun when she aimed it at a journalist who was interviewing her in the lounge just outside the Senate chambers.

Get her out of her job. After taking away her tools.

Even Cheap Is Too Expensive

Dollar stores are struggling.

A quote within the article:

“In other words, the economy is continuing to be worse, the Obama depression continues to explode,” he added.

Still think the economy is not tanking? Hhhmm, 1600?

House Reps Want Your Wages to Reduce Debt

These guys, specifically, signed on to a Bill HR 2411 – to have your employer (once you volunteer, of course) withhold a percentage of your salary for the purpose of reducing our nation’s debt. Now isn’t that – curmudgeonly of them?

From the Bill: Mr. CRAWFORD (for himself, Mr. TIBERI, Mr. FINCHER, Mr. LANDRY, Mr. DENHAM, Mr. DOLD, Mr. FLORES, Mr. GRIFFIN of Arkansas, Mr. AUSTIN SCOTT of Georgia, Mr. HUIZENGA of Michigan, Mr. PALAZZO, and Mr. GUINTA) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

At least I don’t see any names from Maryland here. And I had better not.

Not tax deductible, he says. Now isn’t that the icing on the – where’d the cake go?

One more thing, why these dolts feel the need to do this when people can already send monetary gifts to the Treasury is beyond me. Haven’t they enough real work to do?

Not Near Enough

Saving $4T over the next decade? Who’s kidding who here?

Finally, Boehner was convinced (by some) that isn’t a good deal.

At last. Somebody’s doing the math. How can there be common ground when the other side is trying to pull the rug out from under you (but make it sound good)?

(Pssst. BO wants $2T in tax hikes.)

Don’t Tampa With 2nd Amendment

Think Project Gunrunner was only about the southern border with Mexico?

If you are a law abiding, gun owning citizen of the United States, should you be concerned? Very concerned?

And Alan West on Eric Holder. Also, Instapundit’s Glenn Reynolds.

On Those Wisconsin Fleebaggers

It seems there are serious questions about how much of their out-of-state expenses was paid and by who.

The 14 Democrat state senators that left Wisconsin so they would not do their jobs (thinking that was going to stop progress) may be in serious legal trouble because – where did their expense money come from and what happened to the rest of it?
