Waiting For An American Hero

Boston Symposium on the Arms Trade Treaty

Just this past September.

Global gun control inching forward. Make sure you understand what is at stake.

Who Is Publius?

If Only

If only, an elected Congressman/woman would consider legislation to be constitutional. First.

If only, that consideration wasn’t just left to the courts to decide, but in the legislative process itself.

If only, there were common sense applied up and down the line, including how a widely cited expert on the Supreme Court, responded, “How weird is that, I thought. Isn’t it a court’s job to determine whether or not something is, in fact, constitutional? And isn’t that sort of provided for in, well, the Constitution?” (Well, so much for being an – expert.)

If only, a progressive blogger – that writes in U.S. News & World Report, that such talk of requiring constitutionality is “just plain wacky.” (Wacky? Is that all that blogger has to describe it? Not, correct?)

Jonah Goldberg refers to this as creepy logic. I call it what it is.

This is how an elected official should be doing their job. In compliance with the Constitution. Daily.

UPDATEx4: Comparison

Here is an overhead shot of the attendees for the Restore Honor Rally on 08/28/10.

And here is a shot from stage view of the One Nation Rally on 10/02/10.

From this, I’d say of the Left – there isn’t enough of them.

Let’s see if this holds true one month from now.

29 Days to Election Day, 2010. Be there.

UPDATEx1: Photos of the One Nation Rally. We definitely can call them Socialists now.
Oh, and the trash they left behind? Symbolic, for what they do to America.

UPDATEx2: And it appears that CSPAN is into creative advertising as well, by using a photo of the Restoring Honor Rally to advertise for the One Nation thingy. I’d say they don’t have the budget for real, honest photojournalists anymore.

UPDATEx3: An unhinged, deranged One Nation rally attendee assaulted a reporter that was recording video of Charlie Rangel. So much for peace and love, eh there? Video at the link.

UPDATEx4: And here is an overhead view of the One Nation Rally similar to the Restoring Honor event. Note the time of day.

Free But Paid For By Members Dues

As if we couldn’t figure that out.

One Nation Rally. In DC. For the Left. One month before Election Day. October 2, 2010.

Just make sure they pick up their trash before they leave. Or bill them. They can afford it apparently.

Thank You

Well, it was quite a roller coaster ride.

But it appears it wasn’t meant to be, in my case, at this time.

We shall see what the future brings.

I hope that, come the General Election Day, we get the person(s) that will do what we need to have done. And that is to put our country back on the solid ground we need rather than the spending spree that has been taking place.

To all who have been kind enough to vote for me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It was deeply appreciated.

Have a Good Day.

This Is It

Well, today’s the day.

No matter how this turns out (for me) I wish you to know this has been an extraordinary challenge.

I have met a lot of fine people, and many of my competitors I put in that same category. Stephens Dempsey, Neil Cohen, Corrogan Vaughn and James Rutledge, to name but a few. Perfect gentlemen. It was great fun this past year. I wish you all the best.

And to all of those that have supported me, and those who may (and have) voted for me – I thank you from the bottom of my heart. We shall see what the future brings.

Soon.

New Jobs Killer

Approximately 150,000 jobs may be on the line. Almost immediately. If the following tax hikes pass.

” … President Obama explicitly targeted the industry for two massive tax hikes. First, he’d ban oil and gas companies from using the “Section 199” tax credit, a measure for domestic manufacturers enacted in 2004 to boost US employment. (The Senate is set to vote this week on its version of the ban.) Second, he wants to end “dual capacity” protection for US energy firms. ”

I strongly suggest you read the article.

Because it might cost the US $341 billion in lost economic activity and $68 billion in wages over the next nine years.

Get The Lead Out

Impossible.

Somebody should explain to the NYT that lead is a metal found within, and about the earth. Seems they want the EPA to revisit banning lead. From bullets. From everywhere.

Non-sequitor.

I suppose this is the next cry in the wilderness similar to the global warning scare.

It doesn’t stop there though. It seems the billionaire NYC Mayor is forever on his rant about “Illegal guns and their accompanying violence devastate communities across our country.”

Great. Another idiot heard from. Hello, Mayor Bloomberg. Your jurisdiction is NYC. Not the whole of America. Stay within your realm. The rest of us didn’t vote for a heavy spender that bought himself a change in the term limit rules for NYC. Your logic doesn’t wash with the rest of us.
