Welcome Back

POWERLINE has an excellent video on Carter, Obama. Whoever.

Foreign Influence

While Americans ar losing their homes, for a variety of economic reasons, we have U.S. Senators willing to provide foreigners the documentation necessary to purchase expensive homes here in the U.S.

Is your U.S. Senator helping you, or not? Honestly, why are our U.S. Senators pandering to non-Americans to buy our own homes that our own people are losing? Think about this retiring Democrat Representative from California and what he said about the Administration concerning the housing crisis. And ask again, are your federal reps helping? Or hurting?

And here’s another goodie, apparently an electric car company can’t find anyplace here in the U.S. to build their car(s) – even after receiving a guaranteed goverrnment loan:

With the approval of the Obama administration, an electric car company that received a $529 million federal government loan guarantee is assembling its first line of cars in Finland, saying it could not find a facility in the United States capable of doing the work.

Yet another instance of “stimulus money” (aka, our tax money) going OVERSEAS. And quite likely, right back into our politicians pockets (read the article).

UPDATEx26: Fast And Furious Grows More Legs

Ed Morrissey at the Hot Air site not only explains it well, but poses questions that DOJ must answer.

Trouble is, they haven’t and won’t – looks like.

The thing is, it isn’t just the BATFE. It’s the FBI also.

Ask yourself this, if the online instant check system prevented the strawman purchases (which that would have – since the men involved have prior records) would the Operation Fast & Furious have happened at all?

So this points to the higher ups in DOJ even moreso than previously discussed.

Does the term – egg on your face – mean anything to you, Eric Holder? How about you, Mr. President?

UPDATE: And lost track of over 1,000 guns. Mack and Mire obviously working on it.

UPDATEx2: The Associated Press now weighs in (via POWERLINE).

The Obama administration’s cover-up continues to this day, as Eric Holder’s Department of Justice stonewalls Congress, seemingly in order to prevent the investigation from reaching into the highest levels of the administration. If the media’s need to protect the fast-sinking Obama administration were not so acute, this would be quite a scandal. It will be interesting to see how many newspapers outside the Southwest border region print the AP’s latest story.

UPDATEx3: The investigation expands.

UPDATEx4: So three WH officials received emails, huh?

UPDATEx5: Oh wow, this just gets better and better, or worse and worse, depending on your point of view. From Michelle Malkin, there is also information of not just guns being tossed, er – walked, to Mexican drug cartel(s). Sheesh. And then there’s what’s going on in Indiana, too.

UPDATEx6 and Bumped again: Oh, and two more tidbits: there was a third gun found at Border Agent Brian Terry’s murder, the FBI covered it up, and our tax dollars funded these “walked” guns purchases. If this don’t beat all.

UPDATEx7 and Bumped yet again: Apparently the DOJ is trying to derail the Congressional investigation by Issa. Methinks they protesteth too much.

UPDATEx8: And another piece of the puzzle at Hot Air. Cover-up was to protect an informant? And are there 200 murders as a consequence of this F&F program?

UPDATEx9: More audio, more treachery.

UPDATEx10: We didn’t talk to Mexico about this “program”? How un-neighborly.

UPDATEx11: This blows the “botched sting” theory.

UPDATEx12: What we’ve got here is failure to communicate. (line from Cool Hand Luke)

UPDATEx13: So now the NY Post gets it.

UPDATEx14: More details, much more. F&F at least started back in September 2009.

UPDATEx15: Accomplices named. Oh, and this flashback is pulled from the memory hole.

UPDATEx16: Documents released Friday evening (9/30/11), but not everything. There are, however, some interesting links wthin – such as letters, emails and a chart. A little more is said at Hot Air.

What’s this? DOJ considering getting rid of ATF??? Gee, what do they have to bury, er, hide??? And GatewayPundit chimes in.

UPDATEx17: PajamasMedia adds to the discussion with this little nugget – other operations that did the same. As confirmed by Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News – Operation Wide Receiver.

UPDATEx18: So. The AG Eric Holder admits he doesn’t read every memo sent to him? Is that his excuse now? Why, exactly, is he the Attorney General???????

UPDATEx19 … Bumping again: Quite a list here:
House Republicans Request Special Counsel to Probe Holder on ‘Fast and Furious’
GOP Says Eric Holder is ‘Either Incompetent’ or ‘Misleading Congress’
CBS News Reporter Says White House Screamed, Swore at Her Over Fast and Furious
New documents show AG Eric Holder was briefed in July 2010

UPDATEx20:
Is CBS News Silencing Fast and Furious Reporter?
CNN’s Anderson interviews Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) on F&F (via Hot Air)

And if you are interested at all about AG Eric Holder’s storied background, head on over to Michelle Malkin’s site about him.

UPDATEx21:
ATF officials reassigned in latest Fast and Furious fallout
Justice in full panic

Hhhmm, all of a sudden, it kinda looks like more media outlets are paying attention. Hhhmmm.

AHA! At last, Jake Tapper asks the Prez a tough question. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall at that presser. Oh, and Senator Cornyn is exactly right, it looks more like a cover-up.
And more memos.

UPDATEx22: Found in Mexico cartel’s house.

Updatex23: Holder to be subpoenaed? Oh, and Holder makes public about a terror plot bust. As Malkin says, question the timing.

UPDATEx24: This is too much. Love the question: How did the President know about F&F before the AG … back in March … before the AG claimed he even heard about it. HAH! GOTCHA both!

UPDATEx25: Friday, December 2, F&F document dump raises more questions.

UPDATEx26: Friday’s document dump (Jan 27, 2012) includes documentation proving Holder was informed immediately after the agent’s murder.

How To Get A Better Education

By sending your kids to a school in a district other than the one you live in.
That, is what is being discussedd in this Wall Street Journal opinion article.

If you don’t go to read the whole article, think about this:

Other school districts use services like VerifyResidence.com, which provides “the latest in covert video technology and digital photographic equipment to photograph, videotape, and document” children going from their house to school. School districts can enroll in the company’s rewards program, which awards anonymous tipsters $250 checks for reporting out-of-district students.

Only in a world where irony is dead could people not marvel at concerned parents being prosecuted for stealing a free public education for their children.

And then there is this:

The defining difference between the two schools, writes the novel’s narrator, is parents: At the good school, “The parents were too American, too aware of the rights granted them by their Constitution to accept injustices meekly. They could not be bulldozed and exploited as could the immigrants and the second-generation Americans.”

Last, the point:

Students are still poisoned by low expectations, their parents are still getting bulldozed.

This is a very real, and far reaching, life-altering, problem.
It is the reason that so many are not learning truth, correct history and skills to better their chances for their future.

I am not advocating breaking the law.

I am advocating this issue needs honest, serious discussion and real solutions.

Otherwise, our culture changes. It is changing. And not for the better.

How Not To Create Jobs Part 2

By enacting Patent Law changes that will ultimately hurt our country, our innovators.

The first paragraph –

On Sept. 16, at a ceremony involving some fanfare, President Obama signed the ironically-styled America Invents Act into law. While posed as an effort to “modernize” U.S. patent law by “harmonizing it with the rest of the world,” the bill actually represents an effort by multinational and foreign corporations to crush America’s vital culture of independent inventors.

Can you say – unConstitutional?

Plan 9 From 1600

If you haven’t heard by now, the Obama Administration has a brand new, snitchline on the interwebs, er, intertubes, called AttackWatch.

I can only carry so much because I am laughing too hard.

After watching the video at Michelle Malkin’s site, you will too.

Schnitzelgruben? Sorry, babe, 15 is my limit.

Give Back The Money

GE was awarded 44 contracts totaling over $46,000,000 and 44 grants totaling more than $79,000,000 from the Obama-Pelosi $757 billion dollar stimulus package.

Today GE announced that it was going to gut its offshore wind-power plans.

h/t GatewayPundit

Is this why GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt was hired by the POTUS, to create jobs and take them away???

I don’t think so, but it sure looks that way now doesn’t it?

In August there were 0 jobs made, or gained, or uh, nothing changed since July on the jobs front. What’s going to happen now, Wall Street? Particularly since this news comes on a weekend?

Bloomberg Ballistic

Seems the Mayor of NYC has had enough since there were 24 people shot over a span of 24 hours this past Labor Day weekend. As of last night, no suspect had been arrested although police are hunting for one suspect, who they identified as 17-year-old Oneil Dasilva of Mount Vernon.

Bloomberg went ballistic yesterday, demanding stiffer federal gun laws.

Mayor, I have a suggestion, since your city has practically the toughest gun laws around, why don’t you just catch the suspects, throw them in jail and toss away the key instead? You’ll find that makes a real difference.

Truth About Electric Cars

In simplest terms, we are not ready. And here is why:

Electric cars aren’t necessarily green at all. Electric vehicles require large amounts of electricity – so much that Toronto Hydro chief Anthony Haines says he doesn’t know how he’d get it. “If you connect about 10 per cent of the homes on any given street with an electric car, the electricity system fails,” he said recently.

That is but a snippet from the article, be sure to read the whole thing.

One other thing to keep in mind, COSCTO has been removing charging stations from their parking lots (in CA) recently. They just may have saved themselves some grief.

Sorry, but like Kermit said: It isn’t easy, being green.
