NEA Disburses Donations

Ahem, does any of our tax money go to the kids education??????

And why, pray tell, is the NEA donating to unions? The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate???
$1,758,000 for political influence? $100,00 to MediaMatters?

That’s just a few. Oh, there’s more. Why is a government agency doling out our tax money for political purposes?

UPDATE: Olbermann Out

MSNBC ends contract with Olbermann.

While I never watched him by switching to that channel, I have seen snippets of his rants.

I’m not only surprised that he lasted this long, but also surprised he hasn’t given himself a heart attack.

And the Left calls us nasty. Sheesh. Look in a mirror.
(And, no, I haven’t, and won’t watch the video at the link.)

UPDATE: More, if you’re interested. And that’s it, I really don’t care.

So House Proposes $2.5T Spending Cuts

But have they gone far enough? No.

I notice one thing they have touched on yet, our funds to the IMF. You know, the International Monetary Fund?
And what happened to all the money we sent their way in the not so distant past?

And another thing, how many items make up all of the unfunded liabilities? When is there going to be an accounting, and reductions/eliminations, in that area? Hhhmmm?

Over Half USA States File

27 of 50 States Now Challenging Constitutionality of Obamacare in Court

I’d say that’s a sign. A really big sign. Question is:

Is SCOTUS, Federal courts, Congress and 1600 paying attention now? I mean, given that the House passed their bill to repeal Obamacare today, it would seem to me even if Sen. Reid STILL refuses to deal with this on the Senate side – there’s going to be hell to pay.

REPEAL !!!!!

Ingratiating

Here’s a guest on the MSNBC Ed Show, a talk radio consultant Holland Cooke, to talk about the Rush Limbaugh billboard in Tucson – wondering if Loughner could have driven that highway, saw that billboard, and if it had an impact on his decision to …….

Well, you know.

And now I know, at last, just what MSNBC truly stands for:

Mostly
Stupid
Nitwits
Broadcasting
Crap

UPDATE: Scripted at Tucson

Gasp! What? On a Jumbotron?

Was this a memorial proceeding or wasn’t it?

UPDATE: According to comments in the articles referred within the GatewayPundit blogsite, it may well be the picture has captured a video image that is also displaying closed captioning. If anyone can corroborate that, please feel free to speak up.
Even so, for anyone that had managed to watch/partake in the service, I would also like to hear from those who heard this firsthand.
TUCSON – Thousands of people flooded into Tucson’s McKale Memorial Center to hear President Barack Obama speak this evening. The center is now full, and people are being directed to go to the U of A football stadium to watch the event on a Jumbotron screen.

If you have a Flickr (Yahoo) account, try this as a commenter claims there may be better information here. I tried, but I get a message that I cannot view the picture(s).

Oh Good Lord. Contrivances.

At last, a commenter explains it:
I am a closed captioner and I was working that evening and captioned this event for one of our clients. (There are many stations that ran this live, so I doubt I was actually producing the captions seen in the shot.) But I try to use [APPLAUSE] when cameras aren’t showing an audience reaction, as the shot of Obama above demonstrates. It’s not always successful because captioners usually work off of an audio feed that isn’t time-delayed. Our video is not, so knowing whether the camera will cut away or not is guesswork. But you want the deaf or hard-of-hearing to know why the speaker is no longer speaking, if you can. That’s what this is. It’s descriptive, not proscriptive.

Promises versus Reality

We keep falling for it though. That is, not all of us, but some percentage most certainly do.

Since Barack Obama’s campaign ad, where he attacked the oil industry and promised 5 million new energy jobs, gasoline prices are now 55% more than they were since that ad.

And just to make sure you understand just how bad I feel about that you should know that my truck doesn’t use gas, but diesel. That is even more expensive now. Think what impact that has on the delivery of foodstuffs to the grocery store, and consumer goods to other stores.

Don’t forget now, BO also said, during his campaign, that “under my plan, energy costs would necessarily skyrocket.”

I just want to make sure you remember that.

Oh, and if you this is bad, just wait until oil by the barrel costs $100 and stays there (or goes even higher)!!!!

Oil at $100 and unemployment ~10 percent is bad news for Obama’s re-election hopes, of course. (It should go without saying that it is bad for America, too, and that I do not wish for economic suffering to be visited upon my fellow citizens in order to hamper the Obama administration.) But you know what’s even worse than $100 oil? $150 oil, which the CEO of Gulf says would not surprise him. There will be tremendous political pressure put on OPEC and the other producers if that happens. But why would OPEC want to bail us out? What is in it for them? Devalued U.S. dollars? If the Obama administration will not get behind a solid dollar for sound economic reasons, maybe narrow political self-interest will be enough.

Reasonable vs. Unreasonable

Okay, which is it?

Bill to ban crosshairs – Representative Bob Brady (Democrat) of Pennsylvania told The Caucus he plans to introduce a bill that would ban symbols like that now-infamous campaign crosshair map.

There is such a thing as the First Amendment you know, Bob. Can’t you at least wait awhile before opening your mouth and removing all doubt you don’t know what you are doing?

Reasonable people already know how to “tone down the rhetoric” – it’s the unreasonable people that do the things they do.

Don’t take your frustrations out on the rest of us.

Preserving History

It is important to know the facts.

Otherwise, you could be taken in – by a lie.

Isn’t that right, Daily KOS? And others.

Thank goodness for Hillbuzz.

And more. Lots more.

Manufacturing Blame

Utterly despicable:
Politico – ” …
One veteran Democratic operative, who blames overheated rhetoric for the shooting, said President Barack Obama should carefully but forcefully do what his predecessor did. “They need to deftly pin this on the tea partiers,” said the Democrat. “Just like the Clinton White House deftly pinned the Oklahoma City bombing on the militia and anti-government people.”

Another Democratic strategist said the similarity is that Tucson and Oklahoma City both “take place in a climate of bitter and virulent rhetoric against the government and Democrats.”
