According to an article in the L.A. Times:
As the allegations have come to light, gun dealers across the southwest border have said the ATF has for years been quietly gathering information about questionable multiple purchases and even asking gun dealers to gather information, including descriptions and license plate numbers of suspicious buyers.
Dick DeGuerin, who represents Houston gun dealer Bill Carter, owner of Carter Country, said the company is now being threatened with a federal indictment as a result of multiple sales to purported straw purchasers — sales he said were not only reported to the ATF, but which federal agents encouraged Carter Country employees to complete.
“What’s going on now is some of these agents are scared of their own careers, and are afraid to own up to the fact that they encouraged Carter Country to go through with these sales,” DeGuerin said. “The breakdown came with, what did the ATF do with the information that Carter Country was delivering to them? Apparently, they didn’t do much.”

In Israel. Not here in the U.S.
Israel’s Tamar field is said to contain about 8 trillion cubic meters of gas. In December, gas exploration companies led by U.S.-based Noble Energy announced that another deposit in Israeli waters, Leviathan, contained some 16 trillion cubic meters.
I can’t help but notice that it is a U.S. based company involved with this. Too bad we can’t do this here.
I wonder who is preventing us from doing so? Yeah. I wonder.

Hot Air has some focus on it. Have to say I definitely agree. Most of the FCC’s “power” certainly has to be shunted to ground.
These issues are mentioned:

• FCC merger review authority – Modern media structure has changed dramatically since last century
Ah, but then I got this at work today.
Seems the FCC was told of clear, strong laboratory evidence of interference with the GPS signal by a proposed new broadcaster on January 19 of this year. What has the FCC done about it?
The FCC waived its own rules and granted permission for the potential interferer to broadcast its signal.
One hand knows nothing of the other. This not how it is supposed to work.

A 7-year-old child allegedly shot a Nerf-style toy gun in his Hammonton, N.J., school Jan. 18. No one was hurt, but the 7 year old now faces misdemeanor criminal charges.
School officials alerted cops to investigate the incident which led to the police (with prodding, no doubt, by the school’s zero-tolerance policy by the – cough – administrators) charging the 7-year-old with possession of an imitation “firearm” in school – a misdemeanor and a minor juvenile offense in New Jersey.
I am still wondering just who are the idiots here. i count at least three, maybe four, could be more.
Oh, that “gun”? Something like a Nerf gun, that shoots soft ping pong balls. Oh yeah, real dangerous weapon there. Glad they called the cops. Wonder how many showed up and what their reports looked like.
