Bloomberg Ballistic

Seems the Mayor of NYC has had enough since there were 24 people shot over a span of 24 hours this past Labor Day weekend. As of last night, no suspect had been arrested although police are hunting for one suspect, who they identified as 17-year-old Oneil Dasilva of Mount Vernon.

Bloomberg went ballistic yesterday, demanding stiffer federal gun laws.

Mayor, I have a suggestion, since your city has practically the toughest gun laws around, why don’t you just catch the suspects, throw them in jail and toss away the key instead? You’ll find that makes a real difference.

UPDATE: Unpatriot Acts?

The war on civilians, aka citizens, with cameras.

Watch the video. It will explain a lot.

UPDATE: War on photographing police continues:

In its ruling, which lets Simon Glik continue his lawsuit, the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Boston said the way Glik was arrested and his phone seized under a state wiretapping law violated his First and Fourth Amendment rights.

UPDATEx2: Gibson Guitar Raided By DOJ

Via GatewayPundit:

“The Federal Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. has suggested that the use of wood from India that is not finished by Indian workers is illegal, not because of U.S. law, but because it is the Justice Department’s interpretation of a law in India. (If the same wood from the same tree was finished by Indian workers, the material would be legal.) This action was taken without the support and consent of the government in India.”

UPDATE: Gibson CEO gives press statemeent. Apparently, the DOJ also confiscated $500K of materials from Gibson back in 2009 and the CEO wants it back.

And then there’s this news item also.

Michelle Malkin posted on this as well. Quite a few worthwhile links in her article that are also must reads.

And the CEO is interviewed by Dana Loesch. This is an inteesting interview (audio only).

Even Glenn Reynolds (Instapundit) hits on it a small bit.

UPDATEx2: Seems Gibson’s CEO is a Republican supporter and a competitor (Martin), as a Democrat supporter who also uses the same wood, hasn’t been touched by the DOJ. How about that.

Reminder:
DOJ files lawsuits against Arizona & other states for passing ‘self-defense’ laws the same as Article 4, Section 4 in the U.S. Constitution.

Why is it our DOJ is more interested in protecting workers in another country (that didn’t ask for help) rather than protecting the lives and sovereign properties of our own citizens from Mexican crime cartels?

This needs an answer. Seriously.

Waters Is Part of The Problem

Most definitely.

The Tea Party responds.

She can go straight …. home. And don’t come back.

Let’s see what else she has said:

Threatens to nationalize Oil Compmanies.

Covering up the Fannie Mae & Freddy Mac Scam.

Maxine, You First

Crude, rude and tattooed, most likely.

Apparently, Maxine Waters doesn’t care much for Tea Party members. Guess what, Maxine, we don’t like Socialists, either.

The new civility – same as the old civility.

EXXON Fighting Oil Killers

Here. In the Gulf of Mexico. Our own regulators killed EXXON’s attempt to drill in the largest oil field of over a billion gallons discovered in 2007.
h/t Hot Air.

Per Investors Business Daily:

The Exxon discovery is the biggest in a decade. If put into operation, its billion barrels will be enough to make a dent in America’s oil dependency on foreign tyrants. If that isn’t a sufficient national security reason, what is?

Not to mention our thousands of jobs lost in the Gulf Coast area and beyond, revenues to the government funds lost, economic devastation, more funds lost to overseas oil companies, our oil rigs lost to other countries, etc., etc. etc.

Now what was that quote by candidate Barak Obama? Oh, yeah:
“Under my plan, electrical energy costs would necessarily skyrocket.”

Apparently, it isn’t just coal that provides energy, now is it?

The Great One Asks A Question

Radio host Mark Levin, speaking on issues as: Backdoor amnesty, DOMA, S&P investigation by Justice, Dept. of HHS supporting Obamacare, EPA and cap and trade.

“Is that the act of a dictator?”

Audeo at HotAirPundit.

I would say the answer is – Yes.

The 3 AM Question

h/t Don Surber

Who’s at the podium? No one. (yet)

It’s 3am, do you know where your President is?

Excessive Raid on Raw Food

You be the judge, but I’d say this police action was way over the line and unnecessary.
