And We Thought The Fuel Cost Was Bad

Now, the POTUS wants higher fuel efficiency on bigger, diesel, delivery trucks.

Guess how long that would take, how many drivers will no longer afford the newer trucks, how much higher delivery costs will be (fewer trucks), how much higher food prices and dry goods costs there will be?

And we thought it was rough now. You haven’t seen anything yet.

Just like what Jazz Shaw said in his Hot Air article, “didn’t the president just stand up at a battery factory someplace and tell us that his renewed focus was not only on jobs but on repairing the tanking national economy?”

This is but one recent example demonstrating that whatever the POTUS says one day, is cancelled out by his actions the next. Or made even worse.

You remember that Caterpillar (heavy equipment) manufacturer that BO spoke and delivered stimulus money to, yes? You know they finally closed up shop, right?

Oh yeah, the hands of AllState he hasn’t got.

More Government Infringement On Farmers

Not only is it absurd, will this be the straw that breaks the farmers backs?

While driving more out of farming and growing ever more expensive food, if any, for the masses? You know, us?

What’s next? Taxing pitchforks out of existence?

STOP THE PRESSES ! Well, somebody has a head on their shoulders, thank goodness. The idea of having farmers take a CDL driver’s test is now nixed.

UPDATE: Reworking Rewriting History

At our own White House official website.

Who would have guessed such attitudes would be so brazen, so despicable?

Wow. Just – wow.

UPDATE: AHA !! Now we know the real reason. It involves (mistaken) White House policy versus legal (?) actions and rewriting their website content to get them in synch. Of course, the Supreme Court has better information on what they should do instead. Way to go, Chief Justice Roberts.

But if the guys at the White House thought they could get away with this, they didn’t read footnote 10 of Chief Justice John Roberts’s opinion for the court in Arizona Free Enterprise Club’s Freedom Club PAC v. Bennett (citations and extraneous quotation marks omitted): “Prior to oral argument in this case, the Citizens Clean Elections Commission’s Web site stated that ‘The Citizens Clean Elections Act was passed by the people of Arizona in 1998 to level the playing field when it comes to running for office.’ The Web site now says that ‘The Citizens Clean Elections Act was passed by the people of Arizona in 1998 to restore citizen participation and confidence in our political system.’ ”

The court had previously held that preventing corruption was a “compelling state interest” that justified some restrictions on political speech. But as the chief justice noted, “we have repeatedly rejected the argument that the government has a compelling state interest in ‘leveling the playing field’ that can justify undue burdens on political speech.” The commission, a state government agency, was altering its public statements to bring them into line with its legal defense–precisely what the White House is now doing.

The 3 AM Question

h/t Don Surber

Who’s at the podium? No one. (yet)

It’s 3am, do you know where your President is?

An excellent advertisement video at the link above.

Romney Answers The WH

Wow. There’s nothing quite like throwing one’s recorded words and images right back at them.

Impressive. This video response might/should (will?) go viral.

At HotAirPundit. New Romney Ad. Civility?

A must watch and spread it far and wide.

Concerns on UN Gun Treaty Regulating Firearms Globally

Some tidbits:
Creation of a new U.N. agency to regulate international weapon sales.
Compensation fund for victims of gun violence worldwide.
The biggest threat, the body that would administer the treaty, the “Implementation Support Unit.”
Track any guns that could be exported.
Require gun makers to engrave sequential tracings on every one of some 3 billion bullets produced in the U.S.

WI Dem Party Flak Threatens Independent Reporter

I wouldn’t call it hutzpah. Is it more than intimidation? I’d say so.

Zeilinski’s email could easily be read as a threat to organize union demonstrators against Wisconsin newspapers that publish reporting provided to them by WisconsinReporter.com’s staff. And his vow to go after WisconsinReporter.com’s capitol media credentials is an obvious effort to silence a news organization with which he disagrees

“To have a party official put something in writing like that is pretty out there,” she said. “I’ve seen a lot of emotions. Politics are bubbling to the surface in a way we don’t normally see with editorial products, but this is uncharted territory.”

Excessive Raid on Raw Food

You be the judge, but I’d say this police action was way over the line and unnecessary.

Requesting Censorship

From a U.S. Senator who should know better, but doesn’t.
Clearly, he doesn’t know the U.S. Constitution either. You know, the one he swore to uphold when he took his oath of office? Also clearly, he doesn’t even care to understand the fullness and richness of the First Amendment.

So, with all that money behind him (where’s his wife) it appears he is stuck in D.C.

No class. No knowledge. Just John “I apologize to no one” Kerry.
