Cause And Effect

Thanks to Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.

The following information is almost one year old.
But, it shows how many people have jobs working for Apple as of last year at this time.

Just think, two people, in a garage, started all of this:

SAN FRANCISCO | Wed Oct 27, 2010 7:53pm EDT
(Reuters) – Apple Inc said it has raised its employee headcount by more than one-third from last year, as it warned again that it expects its gross margin to fall in coming quarters.
Apple said it has 46,600 full-time employees as of September 25, up from 34,300 a year-ago and 32,000 in 2008.Most of that increase came in the retail segment, where Apple now has 26,500 employees, 10,000 more than in 2009. Apple has 317 retail stores, up from 273 a year ago.

Thank you, Steve & Steve.

Anybody with an Apple product, should thank you also.

More Taken From Our Wallets

Utility grid updates and emission controls (infrastructure upgrades) are soon going to cause our monthly electric bills to climb as the power companies will undoubtedly pass the costs onto us. Thanks to government inadequacy in understanding the magnitude of the effort:

During the budget battle, Congress cut $500 million from the program to bring this year’s total to $4.7 billion, down from a high of $5.1 billion in 2010. For next year, the Obama administration requested only $2.6 billion, leaving states with roughly half the assistance they’ve had in the past. The White House rationale relies on the assumption that energy prices will decline, but regulatory filings have indicated the opposite trend is in store.

Looks like this is in addition to expected utility rate increases by 2014.

Obama Versus Dingy Harry

Maybe these two are at odds with each other?

The Obama campaign sent out an email today asking supporters to urge Congress to at least vote on the president’s jobs bill almost immediately after Democratic majority leader Harry Reid blocked a vote on the bill in the Senate.

On the Senate floor today, Republican leader Mitch McConnell asked for unanimous consent to proceed on voting on the bill. Reid, who has struggled to find enough votes for the bill in the Democratic caucus, objected to the motion and killed the opportunity for a vote.

Because the above doesn’t ring true to what Barak said about the GOP holding up his “jobs bill” …….

Stupid Is As Stupid Does Part 3

Valerie Jarrett said, “The Point of Government Is to Give People a Livelihood so They Can Provide for Their Families.”

And she is a senior advisor to the President? Puh-lease.

Don’t believe this? Video at the link. She said it 9/21/11.

Solar Scandal Story Spiked By ABC and NBC

They made no mention of the Solyndra execs being questioned during their Friday evening newcasts.
I guess the media folk figured that “invoking the 5th Amendment” at each question posed to those Solyndra execs wasn’t newsworthy. So where did that $545M of our tax money wind up?????? I would think that in itself would be a plenty newswortthy question to warrant some discussion.

Here is some more on this, at Hotairpundit.

Medicaid Caps Benefits

Don Surber nails it in his post – Gazette misses the story.

But the bigger story was this “he received a notice saying he had exceeded his allowable charges.”

So the recipient had to dig up the data to learn the government was getting billed by caregivers that never visited him. Maybe it is too much to expect the government to find such details themselves, but here Don Surber notes the additional fallacy of the presumption on the part of the news paper itself.

That ” … the Gazette noted that this would not happen if we had universal health insurance.” And who would be the source of the universal health insurance?

Obamacare is attempting to be such. It is the government.

In other words, not only would nothing change, it would get even worse.

UPDATE: An Idiot Judge

According to Wisconsin Judge Patrick J. Fiedler, you do not have a fundamental right to consume the food you grow or own or raise.

Really? Wow. According to this nimrod, he would likely think we don’t have the right to breathe, either.

Check out, The Food Renegade, for the rest of the story.

Additional links (since someone complained about the first, but it isn’t broken):

When they asked him to clarify his statement, these were his words:

“no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to own and use a dairy cow or a dairy herd;”
“no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow;”
“no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to produce and consume the foods of their choice…”

Benefits Paid To The Dead

Yup, government is still paying tax-funded benefits (fraud and waste) to the dead – and not catching it in time to prevent it.

In this day and age of high technology, cell phone conversation recording, GPS tracking, red-light and speed cameras – all these that can catch every single instance of law breaking ….. the government, with all its workers and smarts ….. keep wasting our money. To the tune on average of $100M to $150M per year. And that is just to federal annuitants.

Where do I sign up? Wait just a minute, are these recipients still voting?

How Not To Create Jobs Part 2

By enacting Patent Law changes that will ultimately hurt our country, our innovators.

The first paragraph –

On Sept. 16, at a ceremony involving some fanfare, President Obama signed the ironically-styled America Invents Act into law. While posed as an effort to “modernize” U.S. patent law by “harmonizing it with the rest of the world,” the bill actually represents an effort by multinational and foreign corporations to crush America’s vital culture of independent inventors.

Can you say – unConstitutional?

Solar Poker

And naturally, and succinctly, Hot Air has an excellent summary as well as additional meat (er, links) to tell us about Solyndra’s grant, um, winnings.

You know, I’ve mentioned it before – to others and elsewhere – that this administration headed by Obama, has what I call the Un-Midas Touch. Damned if I’d gamble with these folks.

How many times has the White House handed over lots of our tax money to companies that later failed? Anybody keeping track?

Well, there’s the Caterpillar company, wasn’t that first? But now, with the current one – meaning Solyndra – here we have the FBI investigating the company & the home of its CEO. We hear rumblings how the CEO is such a good contributor to the Obama campaign.

But, oh wait, then why would the FBI raid Gibson and take product – when THAT CEO wasn’t a contributor (yet Gibson’s competition is)????

Perspective, I guess. Not sure I care for 1600’s view on legalities, though. Especially when the prior administration shelved the notion of giving to Solyndra. Yet Obama and company decided not to follow that road correctly.

Amazing.

Remember November 2012.
