FYI

For anyone who doesn’t yet know, I operate another website.

http://mdconcon.wordpress.com also reachable by http://mdconvention.org

The purpose of that site is to enlighten Maryland residents of a rather interesting question that will appear on this coming General Election Ballot on November 2 this year.

This question only appears every 20 years. It basically asks if you want to hold a Constitutional Convention for the purpose of amending, or rewriting, the state’s constitution.

I recommend, if you are so inclined, reading through that site to learn just why this could be important to you.

I was invited to speak on this issue/question at the Annual Libertarian Convention earlier this year. People there found this to be a very interesting topic. I expect you will also.

When Does It Stop?

The bailouts, that is.

WASHINGTON – Freddie Mac is asking for $10.6 billion in additional federal aid after posting a big loss in the first three months of the year. It’s another sign that the taxpayer bill for stabilizing the housing market will keep mounting.

So, when are we going to get an audit, an accounting of the business practices of Freddy Mac, Fannie Mae and the FED?

This is insane.

Calculated Cluelessness

What was once top secret is no more.

Trouble is, as I see it, the POTUS just gave information to both our enemies without and within.

Murtha Charitable to the Last

And the Dems couldn’t be happy about that, considering the bulk of Congressman’s campaign funds are no longer available to them.

Wow.

Squirminator

Ahnold no longer supports off-shore drilling.

What a shame. Where is he going to get the energy California needs now?

Speaker of the House Shouldn’t

Speak.

Trouble is, she did – and it is a doozy.

She held a news conference last week, during it she said the Bush administration kept secret that there would be a financial crisis in a matter of weeks.

But what she failed to say was that President Bush warned the Democratic Congress 17 times in 2008 alone about the systemic consequences of financial turmoil at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. President Bush also put forward thoughtful plans to reduce the risk that either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac would encounter such difficulties.

Truth, Speaker. Tell the Truth. For once.

UPDATEx3: May Day With Uncivil Riots

I guess that “civil disobedience” was a bit too much to ask, right?

And, why is it that those who destroy property wear masks, and run away?

And the response from the main stream media? (chirping crickets …)

Yet, the POTUS is not the history buff he tells us that he is. Particularly since Byron York tells us:

Some people might not know that since the 1940s, federal law has required non-citizens who are in the United States permanently to carry on their person, at all times, the official documents proving that they are here legally — green card, work visa, etc. That has been the law for 70 years, and the new Arizona law does not change it.

UPDATE: More violence from the pro-illegal immigration protesters.

UPDATEx2: And Michelle Malkin has more.

UPDATEx3: Good Lord. Talk about turnabout. Subversion of Immigration Laws by a Governor no less.

UPDATE: Arizona’s Sheriff Joe To Run For Governor?

via HotAirPundit

PHOENIX – Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is expected to announce Monday if he’ll run for Arizona governor. Several sources confirm to the ABC15 Investigators that Arpaio has already made a decision, and will likely run for the office.
…..
How about that.

UPDATE: Apparently not. But even so, it appears he his happy to run for re-election for his current job as Sheriff.

Too Big To Be Successful

Gateway Pundit has more details involving what should be a real bonafide scandal.
That would be, that Big @#$% Deal where Obamacare details were kept from public consumption until after it was voted on.

Gee, I think I said something like that myself, say – around March 30.

Jim Hoft is onto something here, I’m quite sure.

PRESS RELEASE: Arizona Bill In Maryland

Delegate Pat McDonough will be introducing a Bill in the coming 2011 General Assembly session that will replicate the Arizona immigration law here in Maryland.

It is important to understand that such legislation simply restates a federal law to the state level. This does not change or add different legal requirements that are already enumerated at the federal level. Instead, this Bill will empower enforcement within the state.

As a candidate for the U.S. Senate, I, Daniel McAndrew, applaud and endorse Delegate McDonough’s attempts to properly apply the rule of law within Maryland concerning the issue of illegal immigration.

I challenge Senator Barbara Mikulski to also endorse this Bill, which will aid Maryland in controlling spiraling costs and unemployment of our legal residents. This Bill will go a long way to return fiscal and human responsibility to Maryland.
