BREAKING: DOJ IG Investigate Prez Voting Rights Record

Michelle Malkin has a copy of the letter where Inspector General Glenn Fine tells COngress of his intent to review the Obama administration’s selective enforcement of civil rights laws by the Voting Section office of DOJ.

Let’s see if this goes anywhere. What are the odds?

Inside Your Medicine Cabinet

No longer private. If Sheriffs get their way.

For years, sheriffs have been trying to convince legislators that the state’s prescription records should be open to them.

If they get their way, you can permanently forget your home is your castle. It is but a hindrance to those that suspect you abuse anything you get your hands on, whether they are right, or wrong.

Odds are great – they are wrong. We don’t live in the movie “Minority Report” a piece of entertaining fiction.

UPDATE: Have We Over-Reacted to 911?

According to Fareed Zakaria of Newsweek, we have indeed.

After reading his article, I would have to say that I agree. Read it, a lot of good information there that we never got from anywhere else.

UPDATE: Apparently, Ted Koppel doesn’t get it. Being American, that is.

Let Me Get This Straight

Government agents can sneak trespass onto your property in the middle of the night, put a GPS device on the bottom of your car and keep track of everywhere you go. This doesn’t violate your Fourth Amendment rights, because you do not have any reasonable expectation of privacy in your own driveway — and no reasonable expectation that the government isn’t tracking your movements.

That rule now applies in California and eight other Western states. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit recently decided the government can monitor you in this way virtually anytime it wants — with no need for a search warrant.

Okay. So two wrongs make it right? My God.
All this does is open the door for more abuse – against law abiding citizens and not just suspected criminals.

No Confidence

From Border Patrol agents AND ICE agents no less concerning the Administration on the issue of real border security.

Their point? The government will spend resources combating SB1070 rather than expend resources to effect better border patrol.

And ICE has been told to ‘prioritize‘. Yup. How about that.

I gotta say, yeah – priorities are definitely misplaced, misguided and mistaken.
On the part of our “leaders” (cough).

Apparently, there is no confidence inside Mexico either. Particularly when their own police kill their own Mayor.

All the more reason to put up a huge wall apparently.

Vote Illegally? Get Rewarded

In 2004, an illegal immigrant voted illegally in Tennessee’s Putnam County. He showed false identification and a stolen Soc. Sec. number. But in 2010 the federal government is asking Tennessee officials to help smooth this illegal’s way to citizenship by ignoring past crimes.

Oh, and that federal agency that allowed this reward?

DHS.

The Power of the Internet

In New York, videotaping police action is legal. Provided, of course, the person doing the documenting isn’t interfering with them.

What Kind of Logic Is This?

It’s the silly season isn’t it? Obviously, whoever is making such stupid reasoning for denial, or revocation, of a CCW renewal isn’t playing with a full deck.

Here’s the Piece of “logic” in question:

The agency said it was “because I hadn’t been attacked” again, Woollard said in an interview. “They said, ‘If you have any problems, you let us know.’ “

How would you like it if your safety was determined by someone ELSE in control of your decisions to safeguard your life?

This isn’t just scary, to me – it is unconstitutional considering SCOTUS’ Heller ruling.

A Few Steps An Idiot Makes

“It’s not the content of their activity – that being the national anthem – it’s the location,” he said. “A couple steps and it would have been no problem whatsoever.”

So said Sgt. David Schlosser. “The United States Park Police is absolutely content-neutral when it comes to any sort of demonstrations in these areas.”

Wow. So how was this group of high school students supposed to know that? How was anyone supposed to know that?

Since when is speech, or singing, supposed to be curtailed when attempting to display patriotism?

Just One. And Only One.

That’s what Chicago plans for those who want to get a gun for personal protection.

No more than one. Ever.

I feel so much better that I do not live in, nor have any interest to visit, Chicago.
