Power Loss

The EPA is about to get medieval on us. Or, send us back in time to that age of darkness.
IER Identifies Coal Fired Power Plants Likely to Close as Result of EPA Regulations

The United States has the world’s largest coal resources. In fact we have 50 percent more coal than Russia, the country with the next largest reserves. But coal use in the United States is under assault.

Soon, the only use left for coal will be placing it in EPA’s Christmas stocking.
Thank the Grinch, folks, er, Obama.

Feds to design health insurance for the masses

That isn’t their job.

The U.S. Constitution does not empower the Federal Government to define our responsibilities to purchase anything.

Period.

Wrongful Forfeiture

By your government, fedeeral or local. This is abuse. Plain and simple.

Cause And Effect

Thanks to Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.

The following information is almost one year old.
But, it shows how many people have jobs working for Apple as of last year at this time.

Just think, two people, in a garage, started all of this:

SAN FRANCISCO | Wed Oct 27, 2010 7:53pm EDT
(Reuters) – Apple Inc said it has raised its employee headcount by more than one-third from last year, as it warned again that it expects its gross margin to fall in coming quarters.
Apple said it has 46,600 full-time employees as of September 25, up from 34,300 a year-ago and 32,000 in 2008.Most of that increase came in the retail segment, where Apple now has 26,500 employees, 10,000 more than in 2009. Apple has 317 retail stores, up from 273 a year ago.

Thank you, Steve & Steve.

Anybody with an Apple product, should thank you also.

More Taken From Our Wallets

Utility grid updates and emission controls (infrastructure upgrades) are soon going to cause our monthly electric bills to climb as the power companies will undoubtedly pass the costs onto us. Thanks to government inadequacy in understanding the magnitude of the effort:

During the budget battle, Congress cut $500 million from the program to bring this year’s total to $4.7 billion, down from a high of $5.1 billion in 2010. For next year, the Obama administration requested only $2.6 billion, leaving states with roughly half the assistance they’ve had in the past. The White House rationale relies on the assumption that energy prices will decline, but regulatory filings have indicated the opposite trend is in store.

Looks like this is in addition to expected utility rate increases by 2014.

No Freedom For Catholics

How – repressively evil – of this President and Administration, specifically the Department of Health & Human Services under the guise of Katheleen Sebelious.

That’s right, I said it – evil. They know doggone well what the proposed regulation is about to do.

The proposed regulation, designed to implement part of Obamacare, will require all private health plans in the United States to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives–including those that cause abortions—without charging any fees or co-pay. …..
A “religious exemption” in the regulation is so narrowly drawn that it does not include any lay Catholics, or any Catholic hospitals, charitable organizations, or colleges or universities.

How dare they.

While the First Amendment is specifically intended that the federal government will not establish a nationally recognized religion (check history, because that is the original purpose), this administration is about to impose rules that violate ethics and morality of a specific religion at the very least. By design.

That. Is. Evil.

Notice I am not mincing words here.

Obama Versus Dingy Harry

Maybe these two are at odds with each other?

The Obama campaign sent out an email today asking supporters to urge Congress to at least vote on the president’s jobs bill almost immediately after Democratic majority leader Harry Reid blocked a vote on the bill in the Senate.

On the Senate floor today, Republican leader Mitch McConnell asked for unanimous consent to proceed on voting on the bill. Reid, who has struggled to find enough votes for the bill in the Democratic caucus, objected to the motion and killed the opportunity for a vote.

Because the above doesn’t ring true to what Barak said about the GOP holding up his “jobs bill” …….

How To Get A Better Education

By sending your kids to a school in a district other than the one you live in.
That, is what is being discussedd in this Wall Street Journal opinion article.

If you don’t go to read the whole article, think about this:

Other school districts use services like VerifyResidence.com, which provides “the latest in covert video technology and digital photographic equipment to photograph, videotape, and document” children going from their house to school. School districts can enroll in the company’s rewards program, which awards anonymous tipsters $250 checks for reporting out-of-district students.

Only in a world where irony is dead could people not marvel at concerned parents being prosecuted for stealing a free public education for their children.

And then there is this:

The defining difference between the two schools, writes the novel’s narrator, is parents: At the good school, “The parents were too American, too aware of the rights granted them by their Constitution to accept injustices meekly. They could not be bulldozed and exploited as could the immigrants and the second-generation Americans.”

Last, the point:

Students are still poisoned by low expectations, their parents are still getting bulldozed.

This is a very real, and far reaching, life-altering, problem.
It is the reason that so many are not learning truth, correct history and skills to better their chances for their future.

I am not advocating breaking the law.

I am advocating this issue needs honest, serious discussion and real solutions.

Otherwise, our culture changes. It is changing. And not for the better.

Stupid Is As Stupid Does Part 3

Valerie Jarrett said, “The Point of Government Is to Give People a Livelihood so They Can Provide for Their Families.”

And she is a senior advisor to the President? Puh-lease.

Don’t believe this? Video at the link. She said it 9/21/11.

Should Suspending Elections Be Joked About?

Hhhmm, ask the Democrat Governor, Beverly Perdue, of North Carolina what she thinks about that.

Apparently, she thinks it so important to focus on jobs, she “recommends suspending congressional elections for the next couple of years.”

Later in the article, her press secretary said she was joking.

Tain’t funny, Guv. Apparently, you have to have someone else explain yourself, rather than you.
