Gas Diesel Drastic Price Increases

Not here – just yet. But look where it is – Bolivia. Up 73% for gas and up 83% for diesel.

And the riots it produced.

A rather unhappy start for the new year. Question is, how and when will this impact us?

POTUS’ 2011 Resolutions

By Beautiful Letters.

Is it unreal? Or is it unmemorable?

Let’s just hope it’s humorous. Otherwise …. nope, too horrible to contemplate.

UPDATE: Which Homeland Security?

Seems that Jammit is investigating the security measures of the Afghanistan borders.

Wow. Hope she does just as good a job over there as she does over here. At Home. You know, home?

I guess this explains why we are still over there, huh? (Does Texas and Arizona know where she is??? Someone should tell them.)

UPDATE: Uh oh, somebody heard. And Arizona Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu is most definitely not happy either.

You’ll Fly When We Tell You

And not before.

Is that the message you want to get from TSA?

Well, this woman got that message. She is the one that stripped down to her underwear in order to demonstrate that she wasn’t a flight risk. You know, nothing to see here (in the way of tools or anything else to indicate possible terrorism).

Instead, the TSA seems hell bent on making an example of her. Just like that pilot that wanted us to know about possible unresolved security issues.

Hhhmmm. I sense a pattern.

Congress Will Still Spend Our Money

In case you didn’t know from earmarks, there are also lettermarks and phonemarks that Congress uses to funnel monies in directions they want it to go.

Happy now? No? Then you should read this piece by Allahpundit at Hot Air.

Stay mad, vote in 2012 – and beyond – for those you know are conservative (and don ‘t just say it). Learn to submit FOIA requests to try and make the government own up.

Don’t give up.

Mayors Against What?

Against Crime? Against Guns? Is one out of two okay?

I’d say – NOT. An interesting little post about the circle of Mayors within the Mayors Against Guns group. Seems they have a bunch of problems of their own. A whole bunch.

And they want to tell those of us that are law abiding citizens that we don’t need to protect ourselves. Really? From who, them or other criminals? Both likely.

Hypocrisy abounds.

Financial Meltdown On The Way

According to Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla.). He warned Sunday of “apocalyptic pain” if the government does not change course on its spending.

Gee, it’s not like we haven’t heard this before. Or said it ourselves.

Bass Ackwards

I have never heard of a union creating jobs, have you?

Historically, unions came about to protect the rights of employees – of companies that were made by the businessmen that had the vision to devise and sell products.

Has a union ever done that? (And I am not referring to a company that was literally handed over to a union, cough – GM, by our, cough – administration.)

Well, look who’s in discussion about creating jobs.

Obama & Labor Unions.

Somebody isn’t learning. Or even listening.

End of Life Is An Option Soon

Obama Returns to End-of-Life Plan That Caused Stir
By ROBERT PEAR
Published: December 25, 2010

WASHINGTON — When a proposal to encourage end-of-life planning touched off a political storm over “death panels,” Democrats dropped it from legislation to overhaul the health care system. But the Obama administration will achieve the same goal by regulation, starting Jan. 1.

More.

So “death panels” becomes “die soon options”? How magnanimous of our elected officials.
Merry Christmas, kids. The adults idiots have spoken.
/sarcasm off

UPDATE: Obamacare’s Mighty Fist?

Similar to DHS’ Jammit Napolitano?

At least, that’s what Jeffery H. Anderson, at the Weekly Standard, is pointing out. And by how that reads, I’d venture to say this monstrosity of a bill (2,700+ pages) had better not see the light of day.

Here’s the first paragraph of Mr. Anderson’s opinion article, go read the whole thing:

Not satisfied with the colossal amounts of power that she would acquire under Obamacare if it isn’t repealed, Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary Kathleen Sebelius has issued a 136-page “rule” that will now give her (and her subordinates) largely unchecked power to pass judgment on the prices of health insurance throughout the United States. Notwithstanding the fact that 43 states already regulate and approve health insurance premiums, Sebelius claims that we need an additional, more centralized, protection against insurers’ unseemly ‘profit motive.’ But a far greater threat to the future of American republicanism is posed by the impulse that animates Sebelius and the bulk of the Obama administration: the power motive.

UPDATE: Even at the state level, even present care can be outright horrendous as well as punitive. Here’s a case where a patient in a government run mental hospital almost died due to neglect, wins a case against the hospital only to be billed for care to the tune of $1.7M. The judge decided the patient wasn’t to be the one to win that argument. Ain’t life grand?
