How Much Is A Vote Worth?

Well, that depends.

If you vote against earlier versions of a bill, and a second time but then become “undecided” – perhaps all you need is to get your brother a judgeship. And call it paid in full.

Let’s ask Jim Matheson of Utah.

After all this, I think we are all going to need Depends.

SCOTUS Chicago And The 2nd Amendment

Without my interjecting (yet), the best read I have seen so far concerning the case is put forth by The Volokh Conspiracy.

There are three posts there. See what you think at one, two and three.

Apparently, we will be waiting until around the June timeframe before we get to find out SCOTUS’ ruling on this.

I hope this works out for all of us in favor of cities and states following the Constitution and not their own poor judgments.

Oh, and Doctor Zero has a nice, appropriate, well written article on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. I like his style and I certainly agree with him.

Cap And Trade May Be Changing

At least, that’s what these Senators say right now: Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.), Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) and Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.). They plan to introduce next month an alternative to the national version of the Cap and Trade bill by focusing on industrial sectors instead.

And yet, it won’t be easy to try to pass this alternative.

Like the Healthscare bill, this is not the time to be jacking up costs that will only be passed on to us, the consumers. The economy will still be negatively affected – with more being laid off every day. The current version, and this alternate, needs to be tabled.

UPDATE: Just Who Is Misrepresenting Here

Seems clear to me. I just can’t believe what I hear from the Speaker of the House anymore. It is just too … mind-numbing.

And yet, the “most ethical Congress ever” … Rangel won’t step aside after his ethics slap. Will wonders ever cease.

UPDATEx1: Well, wonder boy just threw his entire staff under the subway.

DEMs Attack CIA

Yup they did. Snuck in a portion into the Intelligence Bill while (they thought) no one was looking because of the upcoming Healthscare Summit.

But it appears the GOP saved the CIA by having that manager’s amendment pulled.

How about that? Someone’s on the ball.

Our Other Senator Grilled By FOXNews

A feisty interview between FOX News Shep Smith and Senator Benjamin Cardin (D).

Can you determine where the arrogance is coming from? I can.

Treasury to TARP IG: Drop Dead

Our money is NOT in the best of hands, now – is it?

Since when is muzzling the watchdogs of our taxpayer dollars a good idea? Especially in view of our ever increasing debt?

Release the Hounds!!!

Your Teachers May Be spying On You At Home

Excuse me? At first, I wasn’t sure about this and didn’t really read the article.

But Instapundit’s Glenn Reynolds boiled it down to the summary that really got my attention.

Crossing the line for sure. My question is, whose heads are going to roll for this unwarranted intrusion?

Where Taxpayer Stimulus Funds Go

Here.

And might even go here. To shore up unfunded pensions in state governments.

And let’s not forget all the pork, er, earmarks. $15.9 Billion (with a B) in 2010.

Proof Is On The Bookshelf

Like we needed more proof.

Okay, so here you go.
