UPDATEx11: Kill the HealthCare Bill

Read this. Explains the core of this issue. Short and not-so-sweet:

1) Restricts personal choice to more expense
2) Destroys economic incentives
3) Creates an existence tax.

Is this the change we voted for? I say it isn’t.

Both Hot Air and Politico indicate high level pressure from the White House to get this Healthcare Bill passed. Hhhhmm. Why not listen to us folks?
But, The One is about to hold a “party” on Tuesday …

Perhaps not. Thanks a whole heckuva lot there, Joe.

2nd BUMP: Well, it looks like Nelson (D-Nebraska) caved. And now, another weekend of Senate wrangling to vote on Healthcare by Monday early. What will Christmas feel like this year? And look what is in this package.

Not good. Not. Good. At. All.

3rd BUMP: Today’s Senate Schedule. The Not OK Corral.

Updatex4: Let Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) tell you what remains in the bill.

Updatex5: Stupac tells all. I hope.

Updatex6: Well, Glenn Reynolds points the way to reality again. Dare I say it? Read both links. Read the whole thing.

Updatex7: The Senate Health Bill Timeline. (Assuming most of this survives the conference on melding the House and Senate Bills into one.) If you don’t know how it spreads out and affects you by the numbers, this should open your eyes.

Updatex8: And these people want to control our healthcare? Not on my life, yours or Rush Limbaugh’s!

Updatex9: An Op-Ed piece in New York Times against the Healthcare Bill? Wow. And after reading it myself, I can’t say I am pleased about this either.

Updatex10: Yet another reason the costs of Healthcare are going to to increase (no matter what the politicians tell us). Can we all be Joe Wilson now?

Updatex11: Is this an example of what is coming here (U.S.A.) for us? Pathetic.

Heads Up

Apparently, the Healthcare “conference” will not be.

Anybody think this is a good idea? No? I didn’t think so.

The totally fair, transparent (yes, we see right through you) Congress is about to give us a ‘present’ sometime soon. They still won’t listen to the Republicans there nor us.

I have my torch and pitchfork. Do you have yours?

A Lovely Letter

America Rising

Oh. Yeah. Yes. Indeed. For now and years into the future.

Rationing Care, or, How to Make Ends Meet

Mayo Clinic in Arizona to Stop Treating Some Medicare Patients

Isn’t that a state bordering Mexico? Make of that what you will, but here’s the money quote:

“If you truly know your business costs and you are losing money, it doesn’t make sense to do more of it.”

Special Election Massachusetts

Republican Scott Brown is an opponent to Democrat Coakely in a special election scheduled for January 16th in 2010.

This election is to fill the seat that Sen. Ted Kennedy held.

To see why this could be very important, read this Examiner article.

Send him a contribution if you can.

UPDATEx5: Why the Reid Bill is Unconstitutional

Hey, it’s not me defining that.

It’s Richard A. Epstein. It is also an interesting read.

UPDATEx1: Senator Jim DeMint weighs in on this issue.

UPDATEx2: Here is a surprise, the CBO said something about this same issue back in 1994.

UPDATEx3: Hope to kill it? According to Bill Kristol. As Peter Sellers would say, “In a rit of fealous jage.”

UPDATEx4: This just gets more interesting, in my opinion. Here’s some additional discussion (in comments, largely) on this issue.

UPDATEx5: Challenges coming?

True Colors (Is It Memorex?)

Dan Riehl tells us what he caught Senator Nelson doing with vote against, I mean for, Senator DeMint’s proposed amendment.

You Have Got To Be Kidding Me

Dingy Harry said that?

Compromise has a new definition now.

Thanks to a majority Senate leader that offers bribes to his fellow workers.

Um, offers “compromises” in the form of MILLIONS OF OUR TAXPAYER MONEY!

Oops. Forgot to add them all up – comes to $1.2 BILLION !!!!

Gee. The Best Congress that money can buy, from each other.

UPDATEx1: In The Dead of Night

Senator Mitch McConnell releases his statement on “The Bill” to take over 1/6th of our economy.

Next year, both the House and Senate get to wrangle with this even more.

Hang on to your wallets. And keep your powder dry.

UPDATEx1: Michelle Malkin blasts sunlight on names that Sen. McConnell wouldn’t.

Abortion Aborted?

Not so fast.

(musing: Is this before? Or after the deal with Sen. Nelson?? I think this is after.)
